Refugee & Migrant Crisis

camera/ editor  |  UK/ Worldwide  |  factual

The journeys of mostly Middle Eastern refugees and migrants across Europe in search of a better life quickly became one of the defining stories of recent years.

Reporting from Calais to Macedonia, the Balkans through Austria and to Sweden, the challenge was to bring the individual human stories of hope and determination to the audience as well as rooting them in the wider context of what a globalised world means for populations, borders and inter-governmental agreements.

The BBC won a 2015 Peabody Award for its coverage of the crisis across its various outlets
